None of these individuals, including the owner or his son, have any kind of college education or certification pertaining to exercise science, physical training, or fitness. The rest are volunteer student instructors, none of whom are paid for their time teaching. Owner and his son are the two primary instructors. 4 kung fu classes a week, with 9 tai chi, and 9 yoga classes should inform you of the main focus here. Emphasis on traditional art and culture, not self defense or fighting. The training here is a 5 out of 10 at best, very mediocre to anyone with an active or athletic background. The owner and his family run the school and they are nice people. The school is very nice, spacious, and clean, and is set on some beautiful land. This is a very nice place, if one can not go to Asia to practice martial art, The Peaceful Dragon has the closest environment for the training.įirst, some positives before I share my criticisms. Yes, there are many other places to choose from but I never saw another place where it provides the true landscape, the tranquil environment that the real martial art practice needs. So that the students can virtually experience what the real martial is all about. Peaceful Dragon has the true environment that the traditional martial art has to provide, it not only provides the virtual environment but also the spiritual, cultural background. I have traveled around many different counties (Hon Kong, Canada, US and Asia) and I am very picky about the place where I send my children to a school and where and whom they learn from. To have a good understanding of any education, starting it young at the right place is very important. The environment is the core of any successful learning. I taught kindergarten school children before and understand that a good foundation is more important than anything else. ![]()
